College Admission Paper

The college admission paper may also be referred to as the admissions essay and/or personal statement. This document is usually part of an application package which includes the basic application, transcripts, letters of recommendation and college preparation exam test scores. The two main tests used to determine college elibility are the SATs and the ACTs. These tests are accepted by the vast majority of higher education institutions. When it comes to writing your admissions essay, you want to let your personality shine through and really highlight your achievements.

There are two main categories of admissions essay. The first is the general essay or statement which can be about a wide variety of topics. In this type of essay a student may talk about their educational background, accomplishments and achievements, family, career goals and personal interests. The second is the essay that answers specific questions that have been asked. This type of essay is common for graduate students or students in a particular area such as law, medicine or science. Either way, it is very important to write the best essay that you can.

Some students find that writing comes naturally to them. Others may have trouble and suffer from writer's block and a lack of confidence. There are tutors, counselors, advisors, online resources and books that can help students complete their essays. However one thing that should be avoided are so-called free essays. Plagiarism is a crime and no student should ever use someone else's work when writing their essay. Of course, reading someone else's work may give you ideas or motivation when it comes to writing your own original essay.

Writing a college admission paper doesn't have to be a stressful experience. The first step is deciding on the length, format and theme of the paper. This is the basic structure that will define your work. From there you can fill in the blanks and write a rough draft. Once you've got words on paper you can look at your work with a more critical eye and polish the writing. Always make sure your grammar and spelling is perfect before declaring your essay finished. You may also want to recruit parents, teachers or counselors to read your work and make sure there are no mistakes you missed.
